What: Partial Solar Eclipse
When: Tuesday March 8, 2016 3:00PM-6:30PM
Details: On Tuesday afternoon March 8 there will be a deep partial solar eclipse visible (with safe viewing devices) from the Hawaiian Islands. As viewed from Honolulu, the eclipse starts at 4:33 p.m. and peaks at 5:37 p.m., when 70 per cent of the sun will be blocked by the moon. (The eclipse ends at 6:33 p.m., though we expect to lose the sun by about 6 p.m., well after the deepest moment, as the sun sinks behind our buildings.)
